Adam Clough – Assistant Curriculum Leader MFL
Adam Clough grew up on a council estate in Batley and went to a comprehensive high school and sixth form in Dewsbury. His focus for many years was to become a barrister and be like the lawyers he had seen on TV - he never considered becoming a teacher.
After studying hard in his GCSEs and ‘A’ levels, Adam gained a place to study LLB Law with French at The University of Leeds. He was the first member of his family to go to University and it was one of the proudest moments of his life.
In 2013, during third year of his degree, Adam moved to France to study le droit français – French law – at l’Université Toulouse Capitole 1. Over this time, he realized how much he loved learning a language... and how much it had changed his life.
Following this realisation, he stopped searching for jobs in the legal sector and instead shifted his focus to teaching.
He graduated University in 2015 with an LLB (Hons) in Law with French before successfully gaining a place on the competitive Teach First Leadership Development Programme. Adam joined Moor End Academy as a trainee MFL teacher in September 2015 and, after successfully teaching French and German for the first two years of his career, began his role as Assistant Curriculum Leader in September 2017.
In his spare time, Adam enjoys reading, cycling and travelling. He has recently been to Greece, Iceland, Austria, Mallorca, Andorra, France and Germany!
